Lippincott & Margulies Promotes Design Specialists Rodney Abbot and James Wright

Lippincott & Margulies, the leading identity and brand strategy consulting firm, today announced the promotion of Rodney Abbot to senior partner. It also announced the promotion of James Wright to partner. Both Abbot and Wright are based in New York and work in the firm's design practice.
Abbot, an award-winning design specialist, has extensive experience in the development, implementation and management of global corporate identity programs across the full range of media. Since joining Lippincott & Margulies in 1994, Abbot has directed design programs for clients ranging from Citigroup and IBM to Cordant Technologies and Sprint.
Prior to joining Lippincott & Margulies, Abbot worked for Peter Haythornthwaite Design, a product and graphic design consultancy in New Zealand.
Abbot's work has been featured in design publications. He has been guest critic at Yale University and spoke at the Rhode Island School of Design. Abbot received awards, including an international design award from iF Hanover for the IBM interactive CD-ROM identity manual. He holds a B.F.A. in graphic design from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and an M.F.A. in design from Yale University.
Wright, an expert in the design and implementation of retail and brand environment programs, joined Lippincott & Margulies in 1994. He has developed programs for a number of clients, including Nissan Motor Company, Sprint, Conoco/Breakplace, Sonic Drive-In, RadioShack, Bank of America, and Tenneco. Earlier, Wright worked at Christopher Klumb Associates where he developed wayfinding and environmental graphic systems for large health and hospital providers such as Northwestern Memorial and St. Lukes Roosevelt. He also teamed with Murray Bicycles to design one of the first mass-produced, carbon-fiber bicycles.
Wright holds a B.A. in industrial design from Carnegie Mellon University.
